Day 5 of Tour

We had a great night out in Cardiff last night which started early and finished very late. We actually started a little too early and so we were steaming (as the Welshies say) by the time we played. We didn't have any tea either 'cos we are rock n roll bad boys who don't listen to their Mum's.

Tour is an interesting time as you really get to test out how much beer your body can handle. I've got to say mine cannot handle much now and I apologise to the people of Cardiff, and my bandmates for the multitude of errors. Still, I'd like to think that we are providing entertainment value!

Yesterday we were in Leamington Spa where a fairly ordinary evening was made great by getting to see Josh from Varsity Drag at the open mic night (happening upstairs in the venue)! Josh duetted with a mental girl on 'Close To You' followed by a stirring rendition of 'Dead Or Alive', it was great! He also got a free pint which was more than we got for playing downstairs!

Cheers to everyone we've seen in the last day or two, old friends and new. I think we met some people last night but can't remember! Special mention to Bedford Falls as they were rockin' last night.

Bristol today , well, not Bristol but Midsummer Norton in god's back garden. We played a place called the Wunder Bar, a small pub in a small village. I think everyone was feeling pretty rough after the heavy night before and the prospect of having to drive back to Leeds after the gig was not one we were looking forward to. The pub was cool though and after a pizza and a few jars we were all feeling a bit more human. The gig was good although due to it being a free gig it seemed to attract a mixed crowd. We had a mental old man, (who actually looked just like Compo from Last Of The Summer Wine!) playing air guitar with his walking stick rocking out on the dance floor, then a young lady started posing for a guy with a camera in front of the stage like she was on some sort of porno photo shoot!. After the gig we hit the dusty trail back to Leeds. I think everyone (including James) fell asleep at some point of the drive, and once we got back to Leeds at 4.30am we all hit the hay.
